Philip Vaughan

The Malibu Lumber Yard Gallery will be presenting works of the British artist and designer Philip Vaughan from March 8th to April 10th.

Titled “Philip Vaughan: Gesture + Structure Abstractions from Nature,” the gallery presents drawings, paintings, and sculptures by Vaughan.

Paintings in aquatint & acrylic on canvas along with illuminated neon light sculptures all inspired by structures in nature are just some of the various works of Vaughan on display at the gallery.

Known for building rides and designing theme parks sets, Vaughan started working for Walt Disney Imagineering shortly after getting married in 1979. He then went on to set up his own company Vertex Productions, which designed museum exhibits and theme parks in Europe, Asia and in the Far East.

This will be Vaughan’s first retrospective exhibition of selected fine art works in the U.S. The opening reception is on March 8th from 5-8pm at the gallery.
