Singer Rick Springfield was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving Sunday evening in Malibu.
Springfield, 61, who is primarily known for singing the ’80s hit “Jessie’s Girl,” was pulled over by a Sheriff’s deputy for speeding at around 8 p.m. The singer, who was driving his 1963 Corvette, was stopped on Pacific Coast Highway at Trancas Canyon Road.
Springfield submitted to a field sobriety test and blew a 0.10%, surpassing California’s legal limit of 0.08. He was taken into custody at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, and released at around 2:10 a.m.
Springfield is scheduled to appear at the Malibu courthouse July 5.
