Local firefighters joined the 10th Annual “Fill The Boot” event to help raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association last week. Firefighters grabbed a boot and headed to the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way, where all types of motorists stopped by to donate to the cause.

“Overall, the Fill the Boot event raised more than $328,039, Malibu alone raised $6,543,” Megan Berry, director of Business Development for MDA Los Angeles said. “The overall event raised $80,000 more than last year’s campaign.”

Proceeds from the annual event help support research for the treatment and cure of muscular dystrophy.
