Malibu/Lost Hills Search and Rescue Team participates in a cross-training program to ensure its readiness for assisting in emergencies.

The Malibu/Lost Hills Search and Rescue Team (MSAR) coordinated with the LA County Fire Department, State and National Parks, and other LA County Sheriff’s rescue units in order to conduct an interagency rescue training course. MSAR participated in multiple rescue and retrieval scenarios. The teams worked together to establish and reinforce cross communication.

Some of the training tasks for the day included the use of rescue rope systems, rappelling, climbing, snow and ice operations, swift water operations and more. MSAR is expected to be expert in navigating the terrain of the Santa Monica Mountains.Â
