The Santa Monica Classic brought more than 5,000 runners to the Santa Monica Pier on Sept. 9. The day, hosted by Conqur Endurance Group, kicked off with the Santa Monica High School Challenge, in which students from Samohi and Malibu High competed in a 5K race “for bragging rights for the year.”
Unfortunately, the Sharks lost to the Vikings this year. After the initial race, racers took to the streets for the 5K, 10K and Surfer Shuffle Kids Run.
