The No. 18 Pepperdine women’s tennis team (4-3) came just short of toppling No. 11 UCLA (8-2) on Friday, losing 4-3 at home.
The Waves gave the defending NCAA Championship team a run for its money for much of the day, winning all three doubles matches against the Bruins.
But the Westwood school came back during singles matches, winning four of six matchups.
Pepperdine continues its homestand on Wed., March 11, against Long Beach State.
