Local real estate broker, family man and athletic enthusiast Brant Didden left the country on June 23 for a seven-week journey to climb K2, the second-highest mountain in the world, located on the Pakistan-China border.
According to an update on July 20, the group has been resting in base camp for two days. Because there has been snowfall daily, there is a risk of avalanches. The group cannot plan to climb or carry up supplies until the weather improves and conditions stablilize. They plan to rest at base camp for a few more days before moving toward making a summit attempt.
