Emergency responders on Sunday morning found a pickup truck reported stolen a day earlier in a ravine in west Malibu. The truck appeared to be dumped and no people were found at the scene, an official said.
The truck was found in a ravine below Little Sycamore Canyon Road, Malibu Search and Rescue Captain David Katz said.
Officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Malibu Search and Rescue Team responded to an initial call of a vehicle over the side, according to Katz.
“[Authorities] checked dense hillside area for victims and found none,” Katz wrote in an email. “After further investigation, we learned veh[icle] had been reported stolen last night.”
