The local Optimist Club hosted its Youth Appreciation Event Nov. 4. The annual event recognizes local students for their achievements in character building and leadership.
This year’s Honorees: 5th graders Rachel Young and Cody Cadell from Juan Cabrillo Elementary; 5th graders Ariana Berman and Tyler Ray from Point Dume Marine Science; 5th graders Zenna Evans and Emely Tario from Webster Elementary; 5th graders Alexandria West and Shane Carey From Our Lady of Malibu; 7th graders Celia “Cubbie” Kile and Everette Plen, and 8th graders Saisha Brody and Eli Meyer, from Malibu Middle School; and 9th graders Erik Rosenberg and Theo Caen, 10th graders Sabrina Parra and Yasaman “Yasi” Afsharnive, 11th graders Natalie Bark and Brooke Schwartz, and 12th graders Elijah Ettenger and Saadiq Hassan, from Malibu High School.
