The city of Malibu is hosting its local music festival, Malipalooza, on June 22 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bluffs Park. The second annual event will have the theme “Music for a Purpose,” with the proceeds going toward the Playground with a Purpose campaign to raise money to build playgrounds in the city. Last year’s event was a fundraiser for the Legacy Park project.

Admission and parking will be free, with parking located adjacent to the park on the southwest corner of Malibu Canyon Road and Pacific Coast Highway.

Activities and entertainment will include musical performances throughout the day by local artists on the main stage. A number of arts, crafts, environmental and food vendors will be on hand for the event. There will also be a Guitar Hero Tournament sponsored by RedOctane and the Malibu Library inside the Michael Landon Center at 2 p.m. The finals for the Guitar Hero competition will take place outside on the inflatable movie screen at dusk.
