John Caridad

John Caridad, who will be a senior in the fall, was selected and has participated in the Foundation for Teaching Economics’ Economics for Leaders program at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. Caridad is one of 33 students from around the country who is honored by being accepted into the program. Caridad was selected because he has demonstrated excellent leadership potential and his long history of community service. Among many other things, he served as a Malibu youth commissioner for two terms and as president of Junior State.

During the weeklong program, Caridad attained an understanding of economic reasoning principles and how to employ these concepts for successful and effective leadership. Additionally, he achieved a heightened awareness of the impact that his decisions have on others and the responsibility that awareness imposes.

Caridad attended Juan Cabrillo Elementary School and Malibu High School.
