Pepperdine’s women’s basketball lost a heated match to Duke’s Blue Devils Sunday, closing with a score of 99-65. Dynamite shooting from Sydney Bordonaro led her to becoming the fourth player in Pepperdine’s program history to score seven three-pointers in a matchup, but it unfortunately wasn’t enough to bring the winning game home. The guard hit an impressive 7-for-10 from downtown, closing the game with a career-high 23 points.
Guard Allie Green helped the Waves to lead in the first half with her 11-point contribution, finishing the game with a total of 17 points, and center Megan House led the team with 12 rebounds.
The Waves were able to close the scoring gap within 20 points a few times throughout the match, but hot shooting from their opponent ultimately resulted in a win for the Blue Devils.
