Chef's Secrets.Taylor Murray and River Ray Petersen chat about the cooking techniques at the last day of Baker’s Corner, a City of Malibu camp held at Malibu Bluffs Park.

Last week, kids got their creative juices flowing at the City of Malibu’s Baker’s Corner day camp, led by Momentum Academies instructor Darlene Arevalo.

Held at Malibu Bluff’s Park in the Michael Landon Center, kids learned the art of cooking tasty treats and savory snacks, like rainbow fruit loops, cinnamon rolls, energy bites, cheesecake, apple pie, pancakes, s’mores, quesadilla pizzas and more.

It was a fun-filled day for the little bakers, ages three to six. Activities included cooking two recipes per day, arts and crafts, and playground time.

Six-year-old Taylor Murray said her favorite part of the class was adding the sticky marshmallows to her s’more — and, of course, eating it.

The City of Malibu has a wide variety of kids day camps during the summer, as well as spring and winter breaks.
