Ellery Smoller, a freshman on the Foxcroft School soccer team in Virginia, was named Athlete of the Week last week. Smoller scored 10 goals in a three-game span, which is considered one of the most prolific offensive performances in the history of the school’s soccer program. The freshman, originally from Malibu, started the week by scoring three times in a 4-2 victory over St. John the Baptist High School on May 1. The next day, she scored both goals in a 2-2 tie against Wakefield County Day School. Smoller finished the week by scoring all five goals in Foxcroft’s 5-3 victory over Quantico High May 4.
