In response to “When We Were Immigrants” published Jan. 18.
What precisely is it about the term “illegal alien” which seems to elude Mr. York? Immigration is part of a legal process; illegal alienage is invasion, minus the high explosives. Usually. Sadly, this publication has all but ceased evenhanded journalism, preferring to sing the praises of those who come here uninvited, seeking “a better life.” Fine for them, not so much for us. Immigrants should be people who want to become Americans, who choose to embrace all the principles that have made this the finest place to live in the world. Sadly, Leftists such as Mr. York seem to have a problem with that. And to Mr. Harry Wilson (“Obeying the law”) I say, “Right on, Brother.”
