Two Malibu Little League teams—the Braves and the Yankees—made their way to Beverly Hills on June 13 to play in the Tournament of Champions (TOC) games. Both teams made it to the final games; the Yankees came out on top as the Minor League Southern California District 25 TOC Champions.
The Yankees made TOC history as the first team to win every game in the playoff series by mercy rule—in other words, their margin of victory was so wide they forced early decisions in each game.
The last time a Malibu minor baseball team made it to Tournament of Champions was back in 1992.
