Malibu High School senior Emani Truluck is having another excellent season on the school’s track and field team and she has caught the eye of several big name universities.
A 2007 Los Angeles Daily News All-Area team member for the 300-meter hurdles, triple jump and 100-meter run, Truluck recently placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and eighth in the 300-meter hurdles at the prestigious national meeting, the Arcadia Invitational. On Saturday, Truluck will participate in three events at another national meet, the Mt. SAC High School Invitational in Walnut.
Also this year, Truluck placed fifth among 95 participants in the 60-meter hurdles at a national meet in Idaho, she won the 100-meter hurdles at the Oaks Christian Invitational and set two meet records in victories in two of her events at the Tri-County Small Schools Invitational at Moorpark High School.
Truluck is being recruited by several major schools, including UCLA, Georgia Tech, University of Illinois, UC Davis, UC Berkely and UNLV.
