The Polynesian Paradise Dancers performed at the Malibu Library as part of the Friends of Malibu Library summer reading program on Wednesday afternoon.
Children and their families filled the room in anticipation of the performers dancing to traditional Polynesian music.
Children did not hesitate at the opportunity to participate in a hula dance lesson. The dancers taught a variety of tradition Polynesian dances in traditional colorful dress and later spoke about Polynesian culture.

Young Malibu resident Kayla (center) poses with Polynesian Paradise Dancers Claire Salvador and Adriana Laureano, giving the Hawaiian Shaka, or “Hang Loose” sign. The three showed aloha spirit at the Malibu Library on Wednesday afternoon, part of the library’s summer reading program sponsored by Friends of the Malibu Library. See more photos on page A8.
