Two people suffered moderate injuries in a two-car collision on Pacific Coast Highway at Las Flores Canyon Road on Monday afternoon. The accident slowed traffic in both directions for more than an hour.

A Lexus traveling eastbound on PCH collided with a van traveling westbound as the van attempted a left turn at the intersection, according to investigators at the scene.

The van was carrying eight people. A female passenger in the van suffered a broken wrist and was taken to the hospital. The female driver of the Lexus, who was traveling alone, suffered undisclosed injuries and was taken to the hospital also. She is expected to fully recover. Airbags in both vehicles fully deployed. Both females were transported to UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica.

Investigators could not comment on whether speed was a factor and said the drivers and passengers gave conflicting accounts of the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
