Malibu local Hendrik Hopp took fourth place in the Explorer Super Grom Division at the National Scholastic Surfing Association Gold Coast Conference Explorer event at Ventura Harbor. Hopp is in third grade at Our Lady of Malibu School.
The NSSA is a national youth sports organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order to compete.
