The art show was collateral damage.

I have been speaking to many of my clients about the Malibu Arts Festival. The bottom line is that none of them want to drive around Malibu on the weekends during the summer.

Issues include the congestion, lack of available parking, general chaos and even the danger (sirens are going all day long … responding to accidents). With all of the pedestrians, bicycle riders and drivers unfamiliar with the area, driving erratically and too fast, ignoring traffic laws and safety — I’m surprised that there aren’t more incidents.

I think that it is time for us, as a community, to take all of this into consideration. We need to find a way to make the whole city safer and congestion better managed.
