A male motorist was airlifted to a Santa Monica hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries Sunday night, following a three-car collision on Kanan Dume Road, officials said.
Sgt. Nagelmann of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said the collision occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening near the intersection of Newton Canyon Road. The cause of the crash is still unclear. California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into the incident, Nagelmann said.
The condition of the motorist remains unknown, although Nagelmann said the sheriff’s department was informed his injuries were not life-threatening. It is not known whether there were further injuries as a result of the crash.
Sunday’s collision was the second major crash on Kanan Dume near the intersection of Newton Canyon Road in four days. A head-on collision there Thursday morning sent two people to the hospital and closed traffic in both directions for approximately two hours, law enforcement authorities said. The severity of the injuries is currently unknown.
