The Malibu chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honored Vietnam veteran Steve Goddard as part of the United States Vietnam War 50th Year Commemoration.
Goddard served in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army from 1968-70 and received seven military awards for his service, including the Bronze Medal. He was named to receive the Purple Heart for being wounded in the hands of an enemy, but declined to accept the award saying that his injury did not merit the honor.
WWII veteran and Malibu DAR member Marjorie Dukatz presented Goddard with a Presidential Proclamation and a DAR commemorative pin.
