I lived in Malibu for the past 20 years and for almost 18 of these past years, I have been a volunteer for this wonderful city, in any way I could.
We were blessed to be here with great mayors, such as Joanne House, John Silbert, Laura Rosenthal and now, also one of the best, Lou La Monte.
After attending many, many council meetings over the past years, Monday’s was one of the “most interesting” City Council meetings ever.
Luckily, in America and Malibu, we have freedom of speech, but that can translate into three minutes in which to “trash” a great citizen and city leader, thus becoming famous for having their picture and name appear in the news.
My only question is why don’t we run pictures and names of the wonderful citizens who spoke favorably and genuinely about our past mayors and even brought flowers and tomatoes from their own gardens as tokens of appreciation. They also deserve their three minutes of fame.
