Winter season sports for Pepperdine University is in full effect with a big weekend ahead.

Men’s volleyball suffered its first loss last week, but the #3 Waves are ready to move on. Friday night presents a big matchup for Pepperdine as they face number #4 BYU at home. The Waves are 4-1 overall.

Woman’s tennis kicked off its dual campaign Thursday at #6-ranked USC. On Saturday, the team will visit #38 UC Irvine. The Waves are currently ranked #44 overall to open 2014.

Men’s basketball has lost their last two games but the Waves look to rebound as they return home to face Loyola Marymount on Saturday. They hope to move above .500 in conference play and for their 13th win of the season.

Men’s tennis is predicted to finish first in the West Coast Conference this season, according to a WCC coaches poll. Ranked #16 in the nation, the Waves will be hosting Cal Poly this Sunday. They are currently 3-1 in 2014.
