A CHP officer on a motorcycle was airlifted from a bad crash on the 101 Freeway just over the hill yesterday.
He was hospitalized with what were described as moderate injuries.
The crash was at the 101 at Chesebro at about 7:40 yesterday morning.
All westbound lanes of the 101 were closed for a few hours.
One witness told the C H P that the officer had been driving west in the left lane when his motorcycle started wobbling …. then hit the center median.
The freeway was reopened at approximately 11:30 a.m.

In news from down the coast … the city of Santa Monica has lawyered up and won a delay in a court order to dissolve its city council.
The California Court of Appeal says the current city council members can continue to serve while the City’s appeal in a voting rights lawsuit is heard.
Malibu lawyer Kevin Shenkman … representing school board member Oscar del la Torre and others … had won an order dissolving the city council there.
A lower court also ordered that the city hold a new city council election . in June 2nd … and adpt district city council elections … instead of city wide council seats.
The Santa Monica machinations are of more than passing interest to Malibu … not the least of which because because the city council might also shift the school district to voting by district if it loses in the Court of Appeal,
The Santa Monica city council has hired uberlawyer Theodore Boutrous Jr. to represent them.
Spare no expense.

Malibu’s public library has another in its series of programs aimed at helping monarch butterflies coming up.
The western monarchs used to be seen in great number in Malibu.
But their population has dropped by more than 95 percent.
And despite the huge presence of painted lady butterflies this winter … monarchs are very rare this year.
Wednesday night at 6 … the Malibu Public Library is brining in an expert.
Erin Johnson … a Wild Flowers & Native Plants expert … will discuss the unique connection between the western population of monarchs and California native plants.
Native milkweed plants are crucial to the western monarch’s survival.
They can be grown in your garden.
Free educational materials will be available, and native milkweed seed will be for sale
