Children of all ages gathered at Malibu Bluffs Park for the City of Malibu’s annual Easter Hoppening event on Friday afternoon. Children participated in a variety of family friendly activities, including bounce houses, cartooning, creative works, The Crown Collective flower crown booth and more. In addition to the star of the show, the Easter Bunny, Princess Rapunzel also made an appearance.

The city provided a play area for children ages one to two, and four egg hunts with different age categories. The day culminated in a family egg hunt, where all ages were welcome to hunt for eggs.

“We redesigned the format so that parents with multiple children could watch their children participate in each egg hunt,” City of Malibu Recreation Assistant Adrianna Fiori explained. “I think the event was very well organized and the participants seemed to be happy with the new layout and format.”

Colorful eggs scattered across the baseball field were not filled with prizes or candy, but instead children collected as many eggs as they could to trade for prizes at the end of each egg hunt, guaranteeing that each child would have a gift to take home.

After working up an appetite, children and their families snacked from Boba Taco and Apollos Espresso Shaved Ice food trucks.
