A small earthquake struck in the ocean off Malibu at about 1:17 a.m. Saturday morning but there are no reports of damage. The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake was a magnitude 3.6 and centered about 30 miles west of Malibu near the Channel Islands. The USGS website says that dozens of people in the area reported feeling the tremors.
