At the age of 84, resident Toby Schreiber, a founding member of the Malibu United Methodist Church, will compete in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon this weekend at Zuma Beach.
Schreiber will be among the eldest participants of the triathlon, but this is not her first major athletic event. Her daily training regimen includes a two-mile walk and a half-mile swim in Malibu.
Schreiber is also a renowned potter in the tradition of Ancient Greek vessels, and has written the book, “Athenian Based Construction: a Potter’s Analysis,” published by the J. Paul Getty Museum.
