And in Santa Barbara … a judge has refused to block the removal of damaged electric power poles in Ventura …. the area where power poles may have started the largest fire in California history.

A Santa Barbara County judge ruled against a request for a  temporary restraining order filed by homeowners affected by the blaze and subsequent mudslide in Montecito.

The judge ruled that Southern California Edison is doing a good job photographing and preserving the poles and other equipment .. according to the Los Angeles Times.

Southern California Edison says it is pleased that the court has now twice recognized that SCE is taking appropriate measures to preserve the materials that were removed,

Residents in Santa Paula say a Southern California Edison work crew started the fire.

It killed two … and destroyed hundreds of homes.

It also triggered debris flows in Santa Barbara County that killed 21 people and destroyed at least 100 homes.

More than $1.8 billion in insurance claims have been filed as a result of the Thomas fire.
