The family of a pedestrian who was struck and killed on Pacific Coast Highway Nov. 9 has been identified as 70-year-old Douglas Naylor.

Naylor lived in Port Hueneme but spent much of his time in Malibu visiting family, said his sister-in-law Debbie Naylor. He was crossing PCH from Las Flores Beach on Sunday, Nov. 9, when a sedan traveling westbound struck Naylor in the No. 1 lane.

His sister-in-law remembered him as a “sweetheart” who cared deeply for his three children and four siblings. He worked in financial and real estate sectors throughout his life and lived in Malibu for many years.

The Naylor family has dealt with similar tragedy, Debbie said. Her son, Keith Naylor, was also killed in a PCH accident in 2005 when the motorcycle he and a friend rode on allegedly crashed into a sedan attempting to make a U-turn near Sunset Boulevard and PCH.
