Don’t mess with these ladies

Our Lady of Malibu School celebrated women’s history month March 16 by featuring reenactments of famous women that showed the children their accomplishments. The celebration featured (standing, from left) Nancy Isaak as Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space; Bonnie Flores as Florence Nightingale, English nurse, author and statistician; Tammy Arlidge as Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean; Kristen Nelson as Jane Goodall, British anthropologist and expert on chimpanzees; (seated, from left) Daphne Anneet as Elizabeth Cady Stanton, social activist, abolitionist and leading figure in women’s movement; Barbara Carey as Debbi Fields, founder of Mrs. Field’s Cookies and author; Chrissy Orloff as Ruth Handler, inventor of Barbie and co-creator of Mattel; and Holly Culhane as Eleanor Roosevelt, former first lady and advocate of civil rights.
