Repair work will take place at the Malibu Surfrider Beach parking lot from March 25 until April 5, according to the Los Angeles Department of Beaches and Harbors. The work will include repaving the asphalt surface of the lot, adding a timber retaining wall to prevent slope erosion and restriping individual parking spaces.
About half of the parking lot will remain open to the public during construction.
The repairs are scheduled to take place during three phases. The north side of the lot will be repaired during phase one, the south side of the lot with be addressed in phase two and all of the concrete work will take place during phase three. Both pay stations at the lot will also be replaced with new machines that accept credit cards.
