Righting a wrong

I note that the city council may consider selling naming rights to our parks. Before they go very far, I hope the community will urge the council to name Bluffs Park after Michael Landon. He was one of our resident celebrities who really got behind the cityhood effort. Even though he was ill at the time, he would take the time to speak at hearings before the board of supervisors and at fundraisers, as well as financially contributing to the effort.

Not long after we became a city, Michael Landon died of cancer. At the time, we tried very hard to persuade the county to give his name to Bluffs Park, but the most they would do was name the building after him. Now that the city owns 10 acres of this park, let’s right a wrong.
