Ventura County firefighter and Point Dume Marine Science School alumnus Randall Cooper returned to his alma mater as a guest speaker for a Friday assembly. Throughout the year, students at PDMSS have been learning about the importance of respect, citizenship, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness and caring as the building blocks of character. Cooper spoke to the students about how they can apply those character traits in situations and choices in their everyday lives.

Cooper’s connection to the school remains strong—his mom is the PDMSS librarian, Mrs. DeeDee Cooper. He’s been a firefighter with Station 27 in Ventura County since 2015.Â
