Malibu local named to zoo board

Local Erika Stern is one of five new members of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s board of trustees. 

Malibu resident Erika Stern has been named to the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s board of trustees for her first three-year term, GLAZA president Connie Morgan announced. 

Stern serves as executive director of EGL Charitable Foundation in New York. Prior to that, she worked as an associate at O’Melveney and Myers, also in New York. 

Stern earned a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College and a Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School. She currently serves on the board of the Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford, N.Y. 

Founded in 1963, the private, nonprofit zoo association, has funded exhibits, plant and animal species conservation, capital projects, and education and community outreach programs at the Los Angeles Zoo.
