UPDATE: 12 a.m.: Power to more than 3,500 homes and businesses in west Malibu is not expected to be fully restored until 7 a.m. Sunday morning, SCE spokeswoman Caroline Aoyagi said. The cause of the power outage was “multiple trees falling down in multiple locations” across power lines between Bonsail Drive and Latigo Canyon Road at 7:51 p.m. Saturday. Aoyagi said 3,589 homes and businesses were without power

UPDATE: 10:45 p.m.: SCE spokeswoman Caroline Aoyagi said officials on the scene did not have any more information on the restoration of power to homes and would not likely have any until 11:45 p.m.

3,589 homes and businesses are without power as of 9:19 p.m. Saturday night after a tree fell on power lines between Bonsail Drive and Latigo Canyon Road at 7:51 p.m., Southern California Edison spokeswoman Caroline Aoyagi said. Contrary to prior reports that stated power would resume within two hours, Aoyagi said she could not give an estimated restoration because SCE officials were en route to the scene to diagnose what happened.
