A couple of weeks ago I criticized the Malibu Kiwanis Club for their handling of the finances from the Chili Cook-off. Since they portray themselves as a charity and enjoy a 501(C) 3 non-taxable status, I thought that they should be living up to the standards maintained by most reputable charities. I took a lot of heat for that presentation. No one wants to listen to bad news about an event that they have enjoyed and supported for years. Some said I was incorrect. Others claimed I simply made stuff up.
So to set the record straight I have created a website you can access at www.MalibuKiwanis.com. At this site I present the facts and the source documents (the Kiwanis tax returns) to provide you with the opportunity to review both and come to your own conclusions.
