Athlete Selected to play in Youth All-American Football Game

Malibu resident and Oaks Christian student Zack Bornstein was selected recently to play in the 2010 Youth All-American Football Bowl Game for the nation’s top 8th grade students.

The game is held in conjunction with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game for the nation’s top high school seniors to be played Jan. 10 at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX.

Bornstein competed for the Oaks Christian Middle School football team last fall, helping his team to a Delphic League Championship. In the final game against Chaminade, Bornstein scored on a 77-yard touchdown reception with one minute left in the game, leading Oaks Christian to a 20-14 victory.

Bornstein also competes in track & field for both the United Track Club and the Westlake Track Club. Last year he was the 2009 AAU Indoor National Champion in the pentathlon and the 2009 USATF Youth Outdoor National Champion in the pentathlon.

The Malibu Times is the first newspaper in Malibu, serving the community since 1946.
