Three people are in the hospital and a traffic pole is down following a two-vehicle traffic collision near Malibu High School Wednesday morning. One of the injured is a 10-year-old boy who was ejected from one vehicle.
At 8:53 a.m., one vehicle traveling on eastbound on PCH rear-ended a second vehicle stopped at the intersection of Morning View Drive, Sgt. Masson of the Malibu / Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said. The first car rolled over and collided with a traffic signal pole, and a 10-year-old boy was ejected from the vehicle.
The child was airlifted to the hospital with “some injuries,” a sheriff’s report stated. The driver of the vehicle did not appear to sustain any injuries, Masson said.
The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was also taken to the hospital, by ambulance.
A third person, a female bystander who was struck by debris from the accident while walking her dog, was airlifted to the hospital after complaining of pain, Masson said.
All lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were open as of 11 a.m. Caltrans workers were en route to the scene to repair the downed traffic pole, Masson said.
