How have the roles of each parent changed since you were a child?

by Ryan O’Quinn,/ Special to The Malibu Times

“The roles have changed dramatically. I am a single dad and I take care of both my kids and I’m glad to do it. They are the most important things in my life right now.”

“I’m a lot more involved with my kids than my dad was with me, which is just by virtue of him having to go off to work every day. It’s nicer that I’m able to spend more time with my kids.”

“It’s definitely acceptable if that’s the way it works out in the balance of the family. I feel extremely fortunate that my wife can stay home and be with the kids the entire time.”

“Speaking for myself and a lot of guys, there is greater incentive to find ways to be at home and be involved during the day because of the rewards you experience … “

“It is acceptable. I’m not one. I think you have to spend a lot more time with your kids. Fathers have a much greater responsibility and role other than just providing for the family.”
