Malibu author Louise Cabral releases two new novels at 90 years old.

Malibu local Louise Cabral released two novels, “A Grievance Too Great” and “The World Beyond the Pale” at 90 years old. Cabral, from the Malibou Lake area, has been a writer of poetry, short stories and novels throughout her life. A high school teacher for 25 years, Cabral retired early so she could focus on writing.

Cabral also has a one-woman piano show, “Millay and Me,” which combines the poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay with works of her own. She recently dedicated her home, now known as The Cabral Center for the Arts, to the community for concerts, writing workshops and art exhibits.

Her novel, “A Grievance Too Great,” is about the influence a power-mongering Greek father and a cultured American mother have on their two sons. “The World Beyond the Pale” tells Esther Rabach’s story of her life from a Jewish shtetl to her journey to America.
