Cool temperatures and foggy weather will prevail in Malibu during the first official weekend of the spring season, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Patchy fog on Saturday morning will gradually clear and lead to a high around 63 degrees. Clouds return later in the day and residents can expect a low temperature of 58 degrees.
Similar conditions are expected throughout the weekend, with a high of 64 degrees on Sunday and a cloudy low near 59 degrees with wind gusts up to 15 mph.
A DUI checkpoint begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 20 at an undisclosed location in Malibu.
Also on Friday, young musicians will perform on stage for prizes and coveted titles at Malibu’s Battle of the Bands at the Malibu Civic Theater. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. For more information, visit malibucity.org.
