Henry Stern to Represent City on Conservancy Committee

Henry Stern, Malibu local and advisor to Senator Fran Pavley, was appointed as the city’s representative to Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee at Monday night’s City Council Meeting.

Stern won the seat in a 5-0 vote, beating out three hopefuls including Malibu activist and SMM Conservancy board member Carol Moss, who withdrew her application right before the vote.

“Henry’s … resume is the most well-rounded,” said Councilmember Laura Rosenthal.

Stern, who according to his statements at the meeting had recently returned to Malibu after living outside the city for some time, hopes to “serve on behalf of the city” and “re-establish [his] roots” while on the board.

“All right, Henry, we support you. We expect good things, buddy,” said Mayor Skylar Peak following the vote.
