Money well spent

Do you think it is right that teachers should get laid off based on just the amount of years they have been teaching in the school district? Well, I don’t think that’s fair at all. I go to Webster Elementary School, and my teacher will probably get laid off because she has been teaching for the least amount of years in our school. She is an excellent teacher, and I’m not just saying this because she’s my teacher. I’m saying this because she gets things done as fast as I can imagine, and also whenever she teaches us a math, social studies, or science lesson, we always get the concept right away! Also, my teacher doesn’t just teach kids for the kid’s education; she teaches it because she absolutely loves, and enjoys it!

Sadly, the reason that the school district is laying off teachers is because the State of California is cutting millions of dollars from the school district! This is because the State of California is in such bad financial condition. What I’m really trying to explain is that when you vote for the parcel tax, please say yes! Besides, voting yes on the parcel tax will let many teachers keep their job. Also, the parcel tax will cost $198 a year (for only five years), which I think is better than having a lot of teachers lose their job. I’m not just saying this for my teacher only; I’m saying this for everybody’s teacher. My sister, who goes to Malibu High, has the same feeling that a lot of us do about our teachers getting laid off. Since there are so many teachers at Malibu High, about five teachers have to get laid off! That is a lot of people losing their jobs! So please vote yes on the Parcel Tax! I hope you understand my feeling!
