Eileen Davidson

Malibu resident, Emmy Award-nominated actress and author Eileen Davidson recently self-published her fourth book “Swingin’ in the Rain.” Davidson is also the author of a mystery novel series. “Death in Daytime,” was released in November 2008, “Dial Emmy for Murder” in June 2009 and “Diva Las Vegas” in July 2010, all published by Penguin Books.

Davidson is well known for her role as Ashley Abbott on the daytime soap “The Young and the Restless.” She joined the cast in 1982 and later left to pursue other interests before returning in 1999. Davidson left the show in 2006 to play the same character on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” The next year, she returned again to “The Young and the Restless,” where she remains today.

Davidson has also appeared in television shows such as “Days of our Lives” and “Broken Badges,” as well as the films “Eternity” and “The House on Sorority Row.”

Davidson is married to Vincent Van Patten, host of the World Poker Tour. She has a six-year-old son, Jesse, and stepchildren Duke, 16, and “Flea,” 14.
