MHS Girls Basketball Team Wraps Up Season

The 8-4 Malibu High School girls basketball team won two out of three games last week, elevating them to sole possession of second place in the Frontier League.

Center Kendall Jordan led the Sharks to a 59-54 victory over Carpinteria on Feb. 2, scoring 12 points and catching nine rebounds. On Feb. 4, the Sharks held off Carpinteria for a 30-32 win. Gianna Chaisson was the leading scorer with 11 points.

Chaisson was once again the Sharks’ lead scorer against Carpinteria on Feb. 6, but the squad fell 49-38 against the Warriors after falling behind in the first half.

Regular season ends on Thursday, Feb. 11 with senior night beginning at 5:45 p.m., followed by a home game against Grace Brethren. The Sharks will then await the assignment of their first-round CIF playoff opponent.
