Malibu residents arrested on drug and weapon charges

Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s State deputies responded to a report of possible gunfire in an unincorporated area in Malibu on the 24400 block of Piuma Road last week Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 4:20 p.m. When they arrived, deputies contacted Malibu residents Courtney Wagner, a 38 year old woman, and Mathew Cox, a 24 year old man, at the Piuma Road residence. As they investigated the reported incident, deputies recovered multiple handguns and baggies of what appeared to be narcotics at the location. Wagner was arrested for suspected possession of narcotics and Cox was arrested for suspicion of discharging a firearm in a negligent manner. Both were booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and later released on bail bonds. TMZ has reported that Wagner is the daughter of the late actress Natalie Wood. There were no injuries as a result of the suspected shooting and there are no outstanding suspects. The incident is still under investigation.
