The City of Malibu announced City Hall’s reopening on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 27. The reopening comes after the city was put under mandatory evacuation order due to the Woolsey Fire on Friday, Nov. 9.

Regular City Hall hours—Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.—will resume starting Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Since mandatory evacuations were called, staff members have worked out of an Emergency Operations Center located in Santa Monica, with help from the cities of Santa Monica and West Hollywood.

According to information shared by the city, “All city departments are staffed and working. A dedicated Woolsey Fire Rebuild Counter has been opened on the first floor of City Hall.”

Additionally, the planning department will hold counter hours from 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and by appointment, from Monday through Friday. (“This week, additional back-up planners will be available as needed after 12:30 PM,” the information read.)

The Malibu Senior Center, located at City Hall, has been reopened; the scheduled programs have not yet resumed.

City Hall is located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road.

Las Flores Creek and Legacy parks are now open. Malibu Bluffs Park, Trancas Canyon Park and the Malibu Community Swimming Pool (located at Malibu High School) remain closed.

The local Disaster Assistance Center (DAC), located at the old Malibu courthouse (23519 W. Civic Center Way), will continue to provide support to those impacted by the fire. Click here for more information.

The hours are as follows:

Monday-Thursday—1-8 p.m.

Friday-Saturday—10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

According to the city, the Malibu Library, located next to the courthouse, is “providing laptops, public PCs, WiFi and space in the community meeting room” to residents.

Another DAC is located at the Hilton Foundation Building in Agoura Hills. For more information, visit lacounty.gov/woolseyfire.
