The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education on Thursday appointed former Malibu High School School Assistant Principal Dr. Suzanne Webb to direct the SMMUSD human resources department.
Webb, who was unanimously approved by the six board members who attended the April 16 meeting, has been the principal of Lincoln Middle School in Santa Monica since leaving the post of MHS Assistant Principal in 2008. She has been working for the district in some capacity for nearly two decades, first teaching math at Lincoln from 1996-2002.
“I am honored to have been selected as the new director of human resources. I look forward to being a part of our district’s leadership team and helping our employees best meet the needs of all students,” Webb said in a statement.
Webb earned her Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from California State University Northridge and her doctorate in educational leadership, administration and policy from Pepperdine.
“Dr. Webb will be a valuable addition to our district leadership team,” Superintendent Sandra Lyon said in the statement. “I would like to congratulate her on her new position.”
The SMMUSD district leadership is in charge of overseeing the 11,600 students of the district, as well as 500 staffers districtwide.
